For most all applications of non-horizontal development in rock, raiseboring offers a host of time- and cost saving benefits over conventional development methods: faster advance rates, less disturbance of the rock structure, reduced labor cost and most of all much greater safety for the operating personnel. Over the years, Robbins has led efforts to refine raiseboring technology. We introduced more powerful drive systems and power options. We improved drill pipe and pipe handling systems. And we introduced most of today’s standard accessories, which add to operator easy and productivity. Robbins raiseborer have been designed and applied in conventional raise boring applications, blind boring applications (boxhole), as well as downreaming applications.
